glimpse: Lynch Family Photo Shoot, Emmaus Photography

I'm not sure exactly where to begin when it comes to Christine, Justin and their kids. I do know that I love them very much, and I am forever happy that I've been able to become close friends with such amazing people. I wanted to post this blog now, because they are going through a rough time and I just want to remind them of the beautiful family that they have. This shoot I did all on my own...well Tim was along, but just watched me in my element. It kinda felt like when a teacher calls you to the front of the class not only to present your project, but to show all of the behind the scene work that went into it. I'm not gonna lie, it was a little nerve racking having someone who is extremely talented (and your husband) who taught you everything you know, watch and give you constructive criticism. Overall, I think I did pretty good job, and I can't wait for my next photo shoot. Maybe it'll be Christine and Justin's spring family photos...or a portrait of the president. Either way, can't wait to see what happens next.

Until next time, Mercedes

Brittany and Dan are planning a beautiful rustic style wedding and they wanted their engagement photos to have that same warm vibe. We all agreed Burnside Plantation would make for a perfect back drop, and mother nature even managed to squeeze in one last gorgeous day before the cold weather arrived. Bright fall colors, 60 degree weather, and an excited puppy made this a real enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. A big congrats to you both! You guys look amazing. Check out some of Brittany and Dan's photos, and as always we hope all is well.

Our most recent photo session brought us down to Penn's Landing located on Philadelphia's waterfront. This is the very place where Shelby and Jared had first met. They knew from the start that this would be the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos, and we couldn't agree more! A cool fall breeze off the water, a warm coffee, and some cobble stone roads made this session as romantic as ever! You both look amazing, and we can't wait for the wedding day! Check out a few of their beautiful photos below, and as always, we hope all is well.

We definitely could write a few paragraphs about our friendship with Alyssa and Scot, but we'll keep it short and sweet. You couldn't ask for better friends, and we are so grateful that we have them in our lives. It was great to see everyone and of course we couldn't be happier for them!

Have a great night, Mercedes + Tim

I can't exactly pinpoint when and where but in between football games and high school parties me and Mandi became good friends. Stephen and Herbie (their adorable dog) are absolutely perfect for Mandi. I couldn't imagine her with anybody else, and I am so happy that me and Tim have the opportunity to be apart of their day. These photos show off their funny, enjoyable personalities and we cannot wait for their wedding! Congrats guys!

Yes, the title says it all! This was my first solo photo shoot, even the editing! I would be lying if i said leaving Timmy at home didn't make me nervous, but overall I think the shoot was a success. My good friend Caitlin had asked us if we could do some family photos for her, and we thought this would be a perfect opportunity for me to get some real practice on my own. I have learned so much from Tim in the past few years, it's like getting a free education (from the best husband ever of course). All I can say is, I can't wait to get my own setup and keep taking pictures. Hope everyone has a great week!

The first thing that pops into our heads when thinking about Lauren and Jon is how genuinely romantic they are towards each other. Jon surprised Lauren with a Central Park proposal, as his youth group leader played their soon to be first dance song on his guitar. Talk about romantic! After meeting up, we all agreed Central Park would be the perfect backdrop for their engagement photographs. Their love for each other seems to pour out of every photo.

We knew right away that their wedding would be filled with beautiful moments. Check out some of the highlights from Lauren and Jon's gorgeous wedding day, and reception at Lehigh Country Club. Thanks again for letting us share your day with you, and we wish you the best!

Hope all is good, Tim + Mercedes

Our most recent work is from a stunning Italian wedding that took place in the heart of Bethlehem. Danielle and Frank were referred to us by our good friends at Artfully Elegant gallery (which we are very grateful for!). Their love for art and the downtown made us the perfect match for their big day. From classic Main street, to the fun and upbeat Musikfest Cafe, this wedding was stunning. The only regret we have is not trying a piece of rum soaked cannoli cake. Mr+Mrs.Matarazzo, we wish years of happiness to you and your families. Complimenti!

Tim and I had a really fun and relaxing day hanging out at the Blueberry festival in Bethlehem. Everybody was enjoying the music, craft tables and of course everything blueberry. Perfect weather, good food, and hanging out with your husband...what more could you ask for? My favorite photograph is the police horses during their demonstration ( It was pretty impressive in person). If you like good old fashion fun, the blueberry festival is the place for you. Can't wait for next year! Have a great week everyone.

Nicole and Dan's wedding was absolutely beautiful from beginning to end. From the ceremony overlooking peaceful Burnside Plantation, to the Philadelphia Funk Authority rocking the reception, this wedding was seriously awesome. Nicole, Dan and their two precious daughters were a joy to photograph and spend the day with. We are in love with these photos and we can't thank our good friend Christine enough for recommending us to Nicole. Congratulations to you both and thank you for letting us share your day with you! Hope all is well, Tim + Mercedes

glimpse: Personal projects are good for your health, Self Portraits

June 25, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

Self portraits are an interesting subject that date way back and can be found among all mediums of art. Why do artist create self portraits?  I never had one drawing class or painting class that didn't require a self portrait at one point, and now I believe it is an invaluable practice. To many of us self portraits may come across as vain, like a creatively approached selfie, or just a very cheap way to practice your skill, and sometimes they are, but to me a self portrait creates a degree self induced vulnerability, which is a good thing. Artist have a way of being very critical of their own work, and I feel that this negative self awareness can be one of the biggest things standing in the way of truly making the art we are meant to make. Self portraits help you to become more transparent, they give you the opportunity to render yourself as you feel, and most importantly allow you to approach yourself and your art from a new perspective. For whatever the reason I think their fun, retrospective, and an overall important practice. These handful of shots were made within minutes, playing with the shadows on the front door, and it's amazing how simple shapes and gestures can stir imagination. Mercedes thinks it looks like me gazing out a train window as it speeds by.

Hope all is well, Tim

This hometown wedding was beautiful, fun, and packed with loving friends and family. I knew Stu all the way back from high school and we had the pleasure of meeting Kim several times over the last few years. They are truly a charismatic couple and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. We were so happy when they asked us to photograph their wedding, and wouldn't have missed it for the world. We couldn't be happier with the photographs and hope you love them as much as we do. Congratulations again to you both, and thank you for letting us share your day with you.

We are very excited to be photographing an amazing couple getting married at Burnside this weekend, and in preparation for the wedding another great opportunity arose. Burnside had asked us to photograph a Fathers Day event on mead making, and take a few photos of the grounds for them to use. Of course we were thrilled to do it and Burnside returned the favor by placing us on their preferred vendors list! Not a bad deal, and great way to spend the afternoon. If you're looking for that hometown, original rustic feel, Burnside is the perfect venue and it seems that they hold some pretty cool events as well.  It was a fun time and we couldn't be happier with the photographs.

Hope all is well, Tim + Mercedes

This downtown Easton engagement session was the ideal location for our fun loving, down to earth couple. A few coffees, an antique bookstore, and lots of laughter gave us the perfect vibe we were all looking for. Elysse and Keyvin will be getting married this fall at the beautiful Bank Street Annex, and we are more than happy to be a part of their celebration. You both look so happy and we cannot wait to see you in a few months! Thanks again, hope all is well.
